Breath Strength Flow
Intro to Vinyasa Flow Yoga
You will learn the foundations of a vinyasa yoga practice:
Linking breath with movement
Safely developing strength and flexibility &
Learning proper alignment
Viniyoga is a safe and effective approach to yoga practice often used for individual yoga therapy. Integrated yoga practices are therapeutic and healing for all levels of your being; physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual.
Asana practice coordinates breath and movement of the spine which can specifically help create a strong supple back and can help to relieve chronic back pain and/or cumulative muscle tension as well as bring balance to your whole structure.
Several types of Hatha Yoga (yoga poses or asana) are currently offered at Santa Cruz Core. Tamara teaches a type of flow or Vinyasa that is known as power yoga. Paula leads classes in the Iyengar tradition focusing on alignment, strengthening, and opening of joints. Jaimi shares her eclectic yoga style bringing -------to her classes.
Regardless of which style (and they all support each other!), yoga practice brings an awareness that can be taken into workouts as well as into your everyday life. This awareness/mindfulness helps your breathing, posture, and even your relationship with your self.
I have experienced incredible results healing my own injuries with regular yoga practice and have seen the results of the work in my own life.
Private sessions can help you develop a personal practice to address your individual needs. Group practice supports learning and doing the postures correctly as well as learning new postures and practices.
Group asana classes are suitable for beginning to intermediate practitioners wanting a healing, therapeutic yoga practice which will build your strength, nourish your system and increase flexibility and circulation.
Any of our teachers are available for private instructions wheather your're totally new to the practice or a more seasoned practitioner. You may choose to share your private with a friend or two and split the costs.
Yoga is currently offered on Tuesdays @ 9:00am and Sunday mornings @ 9:30am. Both classes are an hour in length. We have some mats available, but you may want to bring your own, along with an empty stomach.
Join us and make yoga a part of your life!
Modifications are offered with all poses.
